This course examines themes in contemporary strategic issues. Some of the topics covered will include hegemonic decline and great-power competitions, old and new risks of nuclear use, and connections between legacies of imperialism and conflicts in the 21st century. The course will discuss Ukraine, Gaza, Taiwan, the global South, and changes happening in the United States.
